For the Development project me and my teammate had to develop a fully functional and user-friendly website for Belco Alliance.
Project plan:
Firstly,I was responsible to write the project plan where I described the definition of the project, the goal, the problem, information about our client and about our team.
User-testing:
We decided to make user-testing about the animation in the website. I had to create the two versions of the plane animations in Figma. In the first version a plane flies across the page when a cardbox is clicked and in the second one when a cardbox is clicked a plane pulls the page. Then I presented both versions to my teachers, which whom the user-testing was and asked them question about which versions suits better to the website and if the animations are distractive. Based on the answers I decided which animation to use and implemented the needed changes so its visually appealing.
Prototyping:
After completing our user-testing, I had the task to make the Figma prototype Interactive. animated the animation, made the buttons clickable so the prototype can be as close to a real website as possible.
Development:
During the development I bult the following pages: Explore our partners, where I implemented the animation, the partners pages for the different countries and the contact page. Finished website-Belco Alliance
Version control:
Since me and my teammate shared repository,I was responsible for creating branches for both me and my teammate in which both of us did our parts of the project and after that I merged them into the main branch. During the project I also fixed a merge conflict that my teammate had.
Presentation:
For the Final presentation I created the following slides of the presentation: intro, ‘Our team’, ‘Design choices’ and ‘Do you have any questions’. Then I presented them to the clients. I also took the initiative to write the feedback we received from both our clients and the teachers.
Reflection:
The project helped me grow in several areas. I learned new skills in JavaScript because of the animation I made. I also become better in working with Git. I learned many new features like merging branches. I also learnt how to fix merge conflict and now I feel calmer in dealing with them. During the final feedback from the teachers I saw the mistakes I made during the development of the project- some of my sections didn’t match with the overall design-and I would try improving my work in the future so I don’t repeat the same mistakes in future projects.
